You no longer have to bring your displays to our annual conference. Simply use the form below where you can conveniently submit your file to us for judging. The winners will be showcased in a digital presentation at our annual conference this fall.

In order for entries to arrive on time for the conference, entries must be mailed no later than October 1, 2014. Entries postmarked after that date may be disqualified.

Each year, newspaper circulation professionals put their best efforts on display at the annual conference in our promotion display contest.  From international newspaper carrier day ads to incredible direct mail campaigns, the contest is THE  place to see the best of what the industry is producing right now.

Competing in the contest couldn’t be easier, and we have all the details available for you right here.

Your promotional contributions are a vital part of each year’s conference.  Last year the competition in Laancaster, PA resulted in many great entries that participants were able to share.  Please submit your great idea(s) because we all learn from each other.  Again this year, every publisher who shares at least one promotional board will be entered into a drawing for one $250.00 prize.

This year there are two circulation categories:

  • Circulation under 50,000 copies
  • Circulation over 50,000 copies

2. Single Copy Sales Promotions:

    • Customer communication, promotions and incentives
    • Employee incentives or motivation
    • Customer rewards programs

4. Online/Audience Building

    • Any activity to engage more people and increase number of people accessing and reading print, e-editions or websites

5. New Subscriber Acquisition:

Judging

Judging will be based on results, objectives, creativity and design of the display boards.

Category Awards

10 Winners – one plaque will be awarded in each circulation category.

L. Scott Olsen Award

I-SCMA’s highest award will be presented to one newspaper for the most outstanding overall display. A minimum of four categories must be entered in order to be considered. The Olsen Award will supersede and replace any category award.

Displays Rules. Please read carefully

  • Display material should be new and successfully used between September 2013 and September 2014.
  • Promotion material should be displayed in original form without enhancements to improve the decorative appearance of the entry. In-paper promotional materials should be displayed using actual tear-sheets.
  • Circulation category entered is determined by daily circulation. Using the latest AAM Annual Audit. If your newspaper has a morning and an evening edition, the combined circulation figure should be used.
  • Exhibits not conforming to the ISCMA rules will be disqualified. The decisions of the judges are final.
  • All new participants will receive a special gift. If you have not participated in the last two years, clearly mark your entry “New Participant” in order to receive a special gift.
  • One entry per category
  • Each publisher who participates will be entered into a drawing for one $250.00 cash award.
